Holiday Trio

Christmas is just around the corner! My girls sang in their first holiday preschool program this week and it was such a treat to see the entire class perform. Here are a few other festive things that I’ve been enjoying:

  1. I’m loving the brown postal paper and glitter ribbons! I could totally take a bite out of that adorable santa croissant and your girls decorated the gingerbread houses beautifully:)!

      • I wasn’t able to go after all..I live in Wisconsin and we just had a snow storm. The roads were too bad to have my mom drive over to watch my 2 year old while I went to school. My daughter’s gingerbread house broke on the way home! She was very disappointed….so I told her we would make some at home over Christmas break!! Crossing my fingers ours turn out as good as yours!!

      • Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear about the gingerbread house! We bought our gingerbread house kit at JoAnn’s… everything is included so it’s really easy. Just remember that you need to assemble to houses and give them a chance to dry/harden before decorating so they don’t fall apart. Stay warm and safe! I used to live in Michigan and remember those crazy snow storms…

  2. Ooh, La Provence! Let’s make a date to go there the next time I’m in town.

Your gingerbread houses are perfect, and so is your chic wrapping job. I’m also a fan of kraft paper — almost all my gifts are covered in it, along with satin ribbon, lace, and/or vine ribbon. It’s the perfect foundation!

    • Yes, let’s go! I had an amazing oatmeal creme brulee there… it was made with creme fraiche and served with a tiny pitcher of whole milk on the side. :) You are right, the brown paper compliments just about everything. Have a great weekend!

  3. Love the gingerbread houses, I always loved making and decorating them when I was a kid. And your gift wrap is gorgeous! I was thinking of stopping by Michael’s to see if I can find the rhinestone stickers you posted about…I hand made gifts for everyone in my family and thought hand made gift wrap would be the perfect finishing touch…a combo of rhinestone sticker cards and this cute wrapping will be perfect!

    • Thanks, Stephanie! Hope you got a chance to go to Michael’s. Handmade gifts are always so special… I received a couple of handmade ornaments from the office staff at my work and I love them!

  4. Oh the houses are so precious and I can tell you guys all had fun decorating :) When I have kids I would love to do that as a holiday tradition. :D I absolutely adore the simple wrapping you did. It’s so simple, sleek and chic. You always have the best eyes and best captures on your post. xoxo, Phoebe

    • You should make one, Ashley! They sell gingerbread house kits at craft stores like JoAnn’s and Michael’s… the kits contain all of the supplies you need which makes it really easy. Have a great day!

  5. Those are beautiful lil gingerbread houses! And i love the bird meringue and Santa croissant! Is that a strawberry nose or a pastry ball? The wrapping looks very elegant.

  6. You are eating the prettiest food lately. Wow! Your girls are very talented when it comes to decorating gingerbread houses, and I can just imagine how cute they were in the Christmas show. Have a great Christmas, your girls gotta be getting excited. :)

P.S. I’ve added The Help to my Netflix list. I should probably watch it now that I’ve read the book. Thanks for recommending it. :)

    • Thanks, Erica! The girls love to sing Christmas carols and yes, they are very excited for Christmas! You’ll have to let me know if you like the movie as much as I did. Have a great weekend!
